Research Fellow Technology and Society

Carnegie India

Carnegie India, the New Delhi-based research center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, is seeking applications for the position of Research Fellow for its Technology and Society program.

The Technology and Society program, initiated in 2018, focuses on examining policy issues associated with data privacy and emerging Indian and global regulatory frameworks; advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and an assessment of its economic, political, and societal effects; advances in biotechnologies and related ethical and legal debates; and creating a bridge between technologists, leaders in industry, researchers, and policymakers in the wider domain of technology research.

Successful applicants will possess a PhD or have at least 5-7 years of equivalent professional experience in the broader policy area of technology. Applicants should have published widely, demonstrating their ability to conduct cutting edge research, in academic journals, policy-oriented publications, and newspapers. The ideal candidate would be a data scientist, computer engineer, or AI technologist with a deep interest in policy or possess both a legal background and proven work around AI technologies.

Located in New Delhi, we offer a competitive benefits package and salary commensurate with experience. Please apply via the Carnegie Endowment website. Your application should include your brief CV, cover letter, and a writing sample of no more than 15 pages.

All qualified applicants will receive equal consideration for employment.
