Research Assistant U.S. Role in the World

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking a Research Assistant to provide part-time research support to David Rothkopf, visiting scholar and director of its DC-based U.S. Role in the World Program, for 18 hours per week.

This position has the potential to become full-time. The Research Assistant will be responsible for providing day-to-day support of the program's substantive work and research on issues related to the future of international relations particularly with regard to impact of new technologies and the changing nature of power worldwide. The candidate will also provide administrative assistance for the Economic Strategy Roundtable series and research support for Mr. Rothkopf's upcoming book. 

Successful applicants will have at least a B.A. in International Relations or a similar related field with some graduate study or a Master's Degree preferred.   Excellent academic credentials and research and writing background required.   Position requires familiarity with current and enduring issues in U.S. foreign policy, a proven interest in drivers of change in the global landscape and the ability to produce well-cited and clear reports for Rothkopf independently and in a timely manner. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diligence and creativity are required as well.
